Postdoctoral research opportunities
I do not currently have openings for new postdoctoral researchers on my active grants. However, I am willing to support applications to the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies postdoctoral fellowship programs and to host postdoctoral researchers on external fellowships/grants.
Graduate student opportunities
I am not considering new PhD or Masters students at this time. Please check back in Fall 2025.
I am particularly interested in graduate students* wanting to conduct research in Latin America on topics related to current research areas in the lab. I am happy to advise (or co-advise) students interested in fundamental, applied, and/or interdisciplinary research.
If you are interested in joining the lab as a PhD student** or research-oriented Masters student***, please email me at least several months before the application deadline. Let me know (1) why you want to go to graduate school, (2) what research topics are of interest to you, and (3) why my lab in particular is a good place for you to achieve your academic and career goals. Please attach a copy of your CV with relevant academic and research experience.

**Doctoral students in the Yale School of the Environment (YSE) receive a stipend, health coverage, and tuition waiver for the first 5 years of the program. You are also encouraged to apply for external fellowships (e.g. NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program, Ford Foundation Fellowship Program, Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, Schlumberger Foundation Fellowships for Women in STEM). Prospective doctoral students should also consider applying to the YSE joint doctoral program with the New York Botanical Garden, through which students are supported by the Cullman Fellowship fund.
***Prospective Masters students can view information about funding here, including scholarships through the Three Cairns Climate Program for the Global South.
